The peacock, with all its mystical symbology, becomes the absolute protagonist of three new timepieces, signed Bulgari, that combine artistic crafts, jewellery and horological complication.
A bird endowed with regal elegance, the peacock is the natural choice for Bulgari, that interprets this iconic emblem by placing it at the centre of its new Divas’ Dream timepieces.
Symbol of immortality in the Middle Ages, of fertility and permanence in India, and known as the favourite creature of Juno, the peacock also appears in countless mosaic representations – among those the fan-shaped mosaics of the Caracalla thermal baths, that gave the ultimate inspiration to the Roman jeweller to draw the lines of its new Divas’ Dream dials.
Three different interpretations of the peacock motif, with three distinctive personalities, in a crescendo of artistic beauty and technical complications.
The first of the three new Divas’ Dream timepieces is in white gold, offering an aventurine glass backdrop set at nigh time. The peacock is delicately hand painted with partitions evoking the Roman mosaics, in the shades of blue and green.
This is a very precise work that required 20 hours to apply the 14 colours needed to complete it. The radiance of white and the depth of blue build the visual ensemble, harmoniously linking together the dial, the peacock, the alligator leather strap and the sapphire on the winding crown, together with the case, the bezel and the diamond-set lugs.
The second interpretation has the peacock during the day, by setting it against a delicate dial in white mother-of-pearl and diamond stars.
The case is in pink gold and this timepiece also sports a blue alligator leather strap. This model, like the previous one, is adorned with 135 diamonds – a refined jewellery touch.
For both the white and pink gold models, the movement is a mechanical self-winding one and developed by the Manufacture.
The third interpretation is a masterpiece, displaying a mechanical self-winding skeleton tourbillon calibre.
A great example of horological complications combined with significant artistic skills, this Divas’ Dream timepiece appears light and transparent, thanks to its delicate openwork movement.
The preciousness is once again with the diamond setting, with the hand-painted peacock to form a whole with the openworked finishing of the movement, that can be appreciated through the two sapphire crystals.
This timepiece will be even more precious and sought after, considering its status of limited edition to 50 pieces in total.
