Christie’s Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels, June 2 – video highlights
This Spring season, Christie’s Jewels Kong Kong is delighted to present an extraordinary sale featuring four impressive private collections.
Of historical significance is the family collection of K’ung Hsiang-Hsi, who married Soong Ai-ling, the eldest of the three famed Soong sisters. The couple’s close connections with influential people in China and abroad allowed them to assemble one of the most important collections of jadeite, natural pearl and signed jewellery pieces.
Comprising approximately 300 lots, this sale is highlighted by a highly saturated 9.07 carats fancy intense pink internally flawless clarity rectangular-shaped diamond ring, mounted by Harry Winston.

Leading the coloured stones category are a Burmese pigeon’s blood red ruby and diamond necklace, by Etcetera; a 5.11 carats Burmese pigeon’s blood red oval-shaped ruby and diamond ring, by Etcetera and a unique 10.33 carats circular-cut Kashmir sapphire ring.




Standing out from a stunning array of jadeite pieces, is a jadeite bead necklace. Each jadeite is of outstanding translucency and characterized by a saturated green vein within a nearly colourless matrix crossing each bead.

Designed as an openwork shield shape plaque, centering upon a line of rectangular and baguette-cut diamonds, flanked by old European and marquise-cut diamonds, mounted in platinum.

Designed as a cabochon emerald, within a rectangular-shaped diamond surround, to the triangular and square-shaped diamond shoulders, mounted in platinum.

EAR PENDANTS
Each designed as a cascade of elongated hexagonal-shaped diamonds, terminating in a cushion-shaped fancy brown-yellow diamond weighing approximately 18.09 carats or an old mine-cut fancy brown-yellow diamond weighing approximately 15.08 carats, suspended from a hexagonal-shaped diamond surmount, mounted in 18k white gold.

Set with a rectangular-shaped fancy vivid orangy yellow diamond weighing approximately
9.50 carats, within a baguette and oval-shaped diamond surround, mounted in platinum and 18k yellow gold.

Of starburst design, set to the centre with a cushion-shaped purplish-pink spinel weighing approximately 17.51 carats, within a radiating hexagonal-shaped diamond surround with round grey pearls, the reverse further embellished by hexagonal-shaped diamonds, joined to the pavé-set brilliant-cut diamond hinged band, mounted in 18k white gold.

Set with a pear-shaped diamond weighing 10.02 carats, suspended from a pear-shaped diamond weighing 2.66 carats, spaced by a hexagonal-shaped fancy purplish red diamond weighing 1.03 carats, joined to the neckchain set with navette-shaped brilliant-cut diamond links assembled by combining two calibré-cut crescent-shaped diamonds, mounted in 18k white gold.

The octagonal-shaped emerald weighing approximately 38.51 carats, to the brilliant-cut diamond prongs and gallery, extending to the hoop designed as a line of marquise-cut diamonds, six marquise-cut diamonds weighing from approximately 1.54 to 1.00 carats, mounted in 18k white gold.
