Piaget’s high jewellery collections have been touring the world, taking us to enchanted and sparkling atmospheres. From Extremely Piaget colour outbursts to Venice and Samarkand in Secrets and Lights, to a Sunny Side of Life celebrating the Californian dream, and the beauty and luxury of the French Riviera of a Mediterranean Garden. Today Piaget brings in the Sun, and it is a Sunlight Journey.
The journey, today, will take us to the Amalfi Coast, that becomes the creative inspiration for radiant, effervescent and dazzling jewels.
A land kissed by the sun, which changing lights and distinctive vibes create unique reflections that are mirrored in the whole collection, thanks also to the use of exceptional gems such as blue sapphires, yellow diamonds and red spinels. A unique journey into an array of mesmerising hues.
Sunlight Journey is a high jewellery collection, of 240 unique creations, that interprets and brings to life the constant change of the sun light, in the magnificent scenery of Amalfi, from dawn to dusk.
A journey that unfolds in three chapters, Secrets of Dawn, Midday Festival and Nightfall Celebration, each dedicated to that specific moment during the day when the sun radiates its light through the brilliance of gold and gemstones.
Secrets of Dawn brings to us the early morning light, with delicate shades of grey, beige and pink. Pink gold, white opals and Paraiba tourmalines translate this in front of our eyes. It is like strolling on the beach, when time is almost suspended in the extreme peace of the sun rising. And eggshell mosaic comes to us to remember of those moments.
Midday Festival translates a stronger sense of light, with stronger colour contrasts – black opals, blue marquise-cut gems, blue feather marquetry, blue sapphires, blue and green mosaics become main protagonists in the collection, and it is really about the deep blue sea and its freshness we all dream of.
Nightfall Celebration goes down to the dimming of light, and takes us towards the burning sunset and the night. The warm colours of pink sapphires, rubies, yellow diamonds and red spinels radiate their luminous halos with great intensity, taking us to the quiet of the night – prelude of new marvels to come.
This is Sunlight Journey High Jewellery collection by Piaget – an intense evocation of the journey of the sun through our day that unfolds through very important creations: necklaces and sautoirs, cuffs, rings and earrings, secret watches and timepieces adorned with dials epitome of those Métiers d’Art that make Piaget appreciated by connoisseurs worldwide.
A collection unveiled in Rome with a grand Gala Dinner last 12th and 13th of June, in which colours are the main protagonists, and live through exceptional and rare gems, that become inspiration to fascinating designs, as it is in the case of this superb 11.85 pear-shaped yellow diamond, found after eight months of research.
Or like in the case of the Piaget Blue Ring, central piece of the whole collection. A ring that features an important 53.54 carat, cushion-cut blue sapphire of extreme purity and of a deep, intense Royal Blue colour. This sapphire was unearthed in the early 1980s in an eight-century-old Burmese mine located in the Mogok Valley, a place renowned for the singular and deep colour of its sapphires.
To have a treasure in your hand, it really takes time.
Sunlight Journey is a multidimensional voyage, that take us on to an evocative multidimensional path made of colours and suggestions, all rendered by the skilful use of gemstones and by the highest in the Art and Excellence of those Métiers d’Art, like feather marquetry, micro-mosaic, eggshell and gold leaf, grand feu enamel, gold embroidery, wood marquetry and the “Palace Décor” technique, a Piaget signature for manual engraving.
An artistic context that make us feel the light radiating on our skin. Creative masterpieces that bring Nature to us in all its dimensions, translated through Piaget’s visual codes, that are present more than ever, and made stronger by the jewels’ vivid soul.
A vision of Light that becomes pure Art. CC
