With Scala di Luce, Pomellato unveils a new high jewellery creation that transforms Milan’s architectural soul into a radiant expression of movement, geometry, and light.
Inspired by the iconic Teatro alla Scala and by the city’s timeless dialogue between rigor and sensuality, the collection stands as a luminous tribute to Milan itself — a place where history, design, and contemporary creativity coexist in perfect balance.
At the heart of Scala di Luce lies a refined tension between opposites. Pomellato orchestrates a sophisticated interplay between the organic fluidity of its signature chains and the precise geometry of fancy-cut diamonds. Rose gold, warm and tactile, meets the crisp brilliance of diamonds cut en goutte, princess, baguette, and brilliant, creating a visual rhythm that feels unmistakably Milanese: elegant, intellectual, and quietly daring.
The collection unfolds through a parure of three exceptional creations — a necklace, a bracelet, and a pair of earrings — each embodying Pomellato’s mastery in stone-setting and chain craftsmanship, two pillars of the Maison’s identity since its founding in Milan in 1967.
The necklace emerges as the sculptural centerpiece of Scala di Luce. Crafted in rose gold, it reinterprets a round-link chain drawn from Pomellato’s archives of the 1970s, reimagined through a contemporary high jewellery lens.
Along the upper curve of the links, a continuous line of 266 brilliant-cut diamonds traces the silhouette like a couture embroidery of light, lending the piece a refined yet defined presence on the skin. At its centre, thirteen fancy-cut diamonds in varying shapes radiate outward from two pavé-set circular elements.
Here, the contrast becomes poetic: the soft, rounded continuity of pavé meets the sharp architectural clarity of geometric cuts, generating a play of light that feels deliberately irregular, alive, and dynamic.
Echoing the necklace’s aesthetic codes, the bracelet translates the same architectural language into a jewel designed for intimate movement.
Rose gold round links form a rhythmic foundation, punctuated by three pavé circles, each crowned by a fancy-cut diamond — drop, princess, or baguette. With four fancy-cut diamonds and 250 brilliant-cut diamonds in total, the bracelet balances bold volumes with delicate detailing, wrapping the wrist in a tactile embrace that feels both structured and sensual.
The earrings introduce an element of kinetic grace.
Sculptural yet refined, they combine princess-cut and pear-shaped diamonds in an asymmetrical composition that culminates in a mobile diamond drop. As it oscillates with every movement, it captures and reflects light, transforming the earrings into living sculptures. This sense of motion is central to the spirit of Scala di Luce, where jewellery is never static but constantly interacting with the body and its gestures.
Entirely handcrafted in the ateliers of Casa Pomellato in Milan, Scala di Luce reimagines elegance through carefully balanced contrasts. Rose gold and white diamonds, architectural lines and organic curves, structure and fluidity coexist in harmonious tension. Beyond visual beauty, it is light and movement that define the soul of the collection. Pomellato’s distinctive irregular pavé and innovative stone-setting techniques ensure that each diamond reaches its maximum luminosity while preserving the Maison’s signature nonchalant elegance.
With Scala di Luce, Pomellato once again affirms its ability to translate Milan’s architectural heritage into contemporary high jewellery — pieces that do not merely adorn, but resonate, move, and shine with an unmistakably modern Italian spirit.
