Three chapters offer new perspectives and glimpses on the Ville Lumière. Here is Paris according to Boucheron, viewed from the maison’s iconic address, 26 Place Vendôme.

Paris, vu du 26 celebrates Boucheron’s Parisian root, and it offers a renewed vision on this. The collection transforms the city’s image, through jewels that give voice to the creative narration of the House.

The first chapter speaks, of course, of Paris, the city that produced the High Jewellery Maison, founded 161 years ago by Frédéric Boucheron.

Frédéric Boucheron opened his first boutique in 1858 in the Galerie de Valois, under the Palais Royal’s colonnades – the centre, at that time, of the most exquisite luxury.

Paris, its arcades and splendid acanthus columns transform into long pearl strands. The columns’ hard stone transforms into a supple necklace, adorned by those acanthus leaves that often one can admire on top of the columns themselves.

Leaves that also adorn the jewel symbol of Boucheron, the famous ‘question mark’ necklace which, in the Paris, vu du 26 collection, appears wholly dressed up in white diamonds.

Paris, and the Opéra Garnier with its roof adorned with powerful stallions. These horses, here in white opalescent quartz, are today part of Boucheron’s bestiaries, to enrich rings and bracelets in yellow gold – to recall the theatre’s gilded decorations.

Paris, and the Grand Palais, which structure inspires a sumptuous sautoir with emerald strands flowing and merging in a blown-glass dome that recalls charming winter gardens.

Place Vendôme: the cradle of high jewellery

Place Vendôme is the cradle of French high jewellery. Frédéric Boucheron was the first one to open a boutique there.

Today, Boucheron pays homage to its founder, by narrating the piazza’s structural lines in the collection’s second chapter.

The piazza’s pebbles, its inspiring octagonal shape, and lorel leaves at the base of the Vendôme column are architectural details that influenced Claire Choisne, Boucheron’s Creative Director.

Madame Choisne expressed her vision of this unique place – the beating heart of goldsmithing art at an international level.

The third and last chapter of Paris, vu du 26 takes us to the legendary address at the 26 of Place Vendôme – the Maison’s headquarter, the seat of its stylistic energy.

A place that is rich in history and, at the same time, very innovative. A place where, for the very first time, Boucheron designed its gemstone.

A real technical challenge that lasted for two years, the ‘Boucheron Gem’ is three-dimensional marquetry, combining onyx, rock crystal and white agate. The stone’s design recalls the staircase that leads to the heart of the Maison.

The 26 Place Vendôme is a place that shows Boucheron family’s history and wealth. This prosperity is translated into a magnificent necklace, inspired by the mouldings of the ‘Salon des Fiancés’ in the Hôtel de Nocé.

Or, again, into a pair of asymmetrical earrings that combine titanium’s extreme lightness with a multitude of coloured gems, depicting a parrot in the winter garden.

Through Paris, vu du 26, Boucheron tells their enamoured vision of Paris, in a sharp yet undefinable manner – that je ne sais quoi that captures our hearts.
